LaFleur assembling staff

Slowly but surely, Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur is putting his staff of assistant coaches together.

He's already retained several holdovers from Mike McCarthy's staff, most notably, defensive coordinator Mike Pettine.   Defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery has also been retained along with running backs coach Ben Sirmans and tight ends coach Brian Angelichio, but the Packers haven't formally announced those moves yet.

The only other hire announced is Nathaniel Hackett as offensive coordinator, joining the Packers after nearly four years calling plays with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

LaFleur has an interview scheduled with Adam Stenavich for the offensive line position.  Stenavich was the assistant OL coach for the San Francisco 49ers last season.   The Marshfield native was on the Packers practice squad in 2006 and was in training camp in 2007, coached by the man he might replace in James Campen.  After 15 years in Green Bay, Campen accepted the Associate Head Coach/Offensive Line position with the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns may also land another former assistant.   Defensive passing game coordinator and secondary coach Joe Whitt Jr. is expected to be named to Freddie Kitchens' staff in Cleveland.

Linebackers coach and defensive run game coordinator Patrick Graham is expected to join his former New England colleague Brian Flores when he takes over the Miami Dolphins when the Patriots' season ends.

After spending just one year in Green Bay, quarterback coach Frank Cignetti is not expected to return.
